About blue{shift}

blue{shift} coding is an exciting edtech startup based in Westbourne Grove, the heart of West London. We teach a creative and innovative approach to coding and robotics to children aged 5-13 in some of West London’s top independent schools, with a core teaching team of 20. 

Our current classes focus on teaching the fundamentals of programming using Scratch, Blockly, Bitsbox, Robotics, Minecraft modding, Arduino, JavaScript, Python, CSS and HTML in creative and engaging ways. We want to expand and deepen what we offer and are looking into further resources for mobile platforms, web tools and more advanced programming environments.

About the position

blue{shift} is growing fast, and we need a dedicated Sales and Marketing manager to help take us to the next level. Computing education for 5-13s is a market that’s becoming more and more competitive, and blue{shift} are aware of our need to stay ahead of our competitors by creating great content and boosting awareness of our products whenever and wherever possible.

The function of the Sales and Marketing Manager is to drive sales of holiday camp and workshop places, develop relationships with schools and establish new after school clubs, and grow the brand visibility of blue{shift} in the education and technology markets through various marketing channels. 

This will involve researching and identifying target new schools for blue{shift} after school clubs, devising bespoke after school club programs, maintaining and developing relationships with our existing schools and ensuring that all of our teaching staff are representing the blue{shift} brand to the highest standard. 

As we build up to holiday coding camps, the Sales and Marketing Manager will drive camp sales by planning and executing campaigns across a range of channels - from managing and executing targeting flyering campaigns, to paid advertising and PR and influencer marketing. Finally, they will also be responsible for tracking conversion and performance - measuring the success of campaigns across all channels against their effectively managed marketing budgets.

About you

First and foremost, you’re a highly motivated, driven sales and marketing professional, bursting with ideas for ways to attract new customers (both in terms of new schools and new parents), and retain the customers we have. You’re likely at the beginning of your career, but have some experience of running marketing campaigns across a range of channels, ideally within a startup environment and with a limited budget.

You have a profound understanding of the marketing and advertising channels we already use (and are able to teach us about ones we might not be using yet!). You’re methodical, organised, and are the sort of person who likes to use data to demonstrate your effectiveness (and to make important decisions). 

 You’re also passionate about tech, education, and can demonstrate an understanding of blue{shift}’s mission and the challenges we face when scaling up. You’re highly positive, love to engage in team-based discussions, and are a comfortable and eloquent communicator. You’re not afraid to hustle in high-pressure situations and pride yourself on being able to drive sales when they really need driving!
