Camila, Teacher

BA Linguistics, University College London

One of my favourite things about teaching is helping young people deal with frustration and develop resilience. It can be difficult for children to solve problems they have never faced before, and I like helping them understand that they can do anything they set their minds to.

I started coding in university when I realised just how much I loved problem-solving. I, therefore, developed a strong interest in computational linguistics, the intersection between language and technology. I then took an introductory Python course at University College London and landed a job as a Data Linguist at Amazon Alexa shortly after graduating.
