Georgie, Teacher

Currently studying BSc Digital Arts Computing, Goldsmiths University of London

When teaching, it’s a great moment watching others solve a problem as well as seeing their faces light up when they’ve created something really cool with their program. I think what inspired me to teach is the idea of encouraging young people to explore the possibilities of technology.

I first started to become engaged in tech when I was 13; I really loved the idea of animating and started to become really engaged in using technology to do this. When I was 15 a company called ‘Little Miss Geek’ came to my school and ran a series of clubs which engaged with technology and coding which sparked my interest in Computer Science. Since then I have continued to combine my love of technology with art to develop computational art at university. Coding holds so many possibilities, and so much more than just building a website, I think that coding develops so many skills that can be used outside of the computing profession.
