Course Features

  • Curriculum curated in conjunction with UCL, with both on-screen and off-screen activities. Practical projects challenge students to engage with their own code.

  • A great introductory course for the youngest students, this course covers both the basics and more advanced concepts such as robotics.

  • All staff have backgrounds in computer science, are fully DBS checked, and are trained in both traditional and innovative teaching methods.
Practice makes perfect

It's common for our students to repeat courses more than once, and we will recommend repeating a course if we feel it is beneficial for the student's progress.

Regardless of the course, the camp, or how many times a student takes it, we create new content each and every time.

Detailed information

In this course, children will explore computational thinking, programming, robotics and game making as they learn key foundational technology skills.

Our Mini Coders start their journey by becoming familiar with coding logic and reasoning using tablets or iPads. We will introduce Mini Coders to basic robotics, circuits and motors with different robotics kits. They will get the chance to create their very own incredibly cool robots!

Your child will develop their programming skills using Scratch Jr, an introductory programming language that enables young children to create their own stories, animations and games. This course will teach basic ICT skills and introductory computing concepts that are an important first step for children, especially when grasping the curriculum of the new National Computing Curriculum.

We've prepared lots of new lessons and fun challenges so that both new and returning students can enjoy our course.

Your child will learn:

  • Introduction to coding with Scratch Jr
  • Problem-solving skills
  • How to think like a programmer
  • Fundamentals of coding, loops and logical reasoning
  • Robot building with Lego WeDo, Dashbots or Ozobots
  • How circuits and electricity work
  • How to program interactive stories or animations
  • Build apps and games
