Want to introduce your child to typing, but not sure where to start? Want to establish good touch typing habits that will support your child's education?

This course provides a structure for children to learn best practice when it comes to touch typing. Students apply their knowledge each day through new projects, games, and challenges as we introduce them to the correct posture, typing techniques, and how touch typing will benefit them in their academic career. Our teacher will lead the class in competitions and other group tasks, encouraging each student to work their hardest to become the best!

This course uses dedicated touch typing software, enabling students to start practising from the very get go. Campers apply their knowledge each day through new projects, games, and challenges as we introduce students to the correct posture, typing best practices, and how touch typing is useful across the tech industry.

Other features include:

  • A back to basics approach
  • All letter keys are taught, including punctuation and capital letters. Students will learn the importance of having the correct typing posture and seating, to prevent injury. Proper typing technique is stressed.
  • Students will be encouraged to focus on accuracy over speed and to not look down at the keyboard.
  • Small group sizes ensure that each student gets the individual attention they need.  By the end of the week all children will know how to touch type - the only variant is the speed.

The students will arrive at 10AM. From here they do 45 minutes of touch typing, before going out onto the playground for a run around and a snack. Following this, they return to the classroom for another 45 minutes of practice before pick up!

Laptops are not included but can be rented at £25 for the week, whilst snacks, water, and all other equipment is provided.
