What Are The Benefits Of After School Coding Club?

·

Children spend six hours a day at school, taking part in extracurricular activities and learning the core subjects of maths, English, science and history. However, there is still a good reason to send children to an after school coding club, as this is where they can expand their skills even further.

Firstly, research has shown disadvantaged children who attend activities after the bell has gone make more progress by the age of 11 than those who do not.

This is particularly true for educational sessions like after school coding clubs, as they can build on the knowledge they already have.

As the classes are often smaller than in school, students get more attention from teachers, so they are able to benefit from someone explaining the topic in a way they understand and at a pace they can follow.

Learning in small groups like this can improve their communication skills, as they are better able to speak up and ask for help. It can also increase their confidence, as they see their talents grow, which can have a positive impact on their work during school hours too.

It also provides social benefits, as it allows kids to be around others with the same interests as them. These may be children in other classes whom they, otherwise, would not have the opportunity to mix with.

Children can, therefore, make new friends, or they can boost their confidence, knowing that other people share the same interests as they do.

Another reason to send your child to a club after school is it is a good way to help them unwind. They use so much energy at school taking in all the new information, sitting still and concentrating all day long that they need some time after school to fully relax.
