Information for parents

Whether your child is completely new to coding and robotics, or has completed a BlueShift camp or course before, this course is perfect for them! Bringing a laptop is recommended if possible as students learn more effectively with a device that they are familiar with.

Camp structure

This is a sample schedule for a typical day at camp. In between each lesson there will be a 15-minute snack break, or a 1-hour lunch and play break.
10.00 - 10.40
Lesson 1
First off we'll get to know our teacher and classmates through some great mini games. Once we're all friends, we'll be introduced to our activity for the day. Let's jump in to coding!
10.40 - 11.20
Lesson 2
We'll have a short stretch and will begin our second activity. We might continue making our game or animation, especially, if we've spent some time planning our work with drawings and storyboards.
11.35 - 12.15
Lesson 3
Now that we've had a healthy snack, we're ready to get right back into our third activity. We'll carry on flexing our creative muscles by designing, coding and building our projects.
13.15 - 14.05
Lesson 4
Let's refocus after lunch and playtime by diving into building robots!
14.30 - 15.10
Lesson 5
It's time to start our late afternoon activity. Usually we'll do something creative like digital art, practicing our digital skills by using the mouse to create art and animations.
15.15 - 16.00
Lesson 6
Our last lesson of the day is an opportunity to finish up our work, recap on what we've learned today and tidy up ready for home time!

I liked making my robot move!
