Minis Digital Art & Animation (Reception-Year 2)

In this club, students will learn to use digital tools to bring their imaginations to life. They will create a series of interactive art pieces and animations, broadening their creative palette while gaining valuable digital skills. A highlight of the course is the opportunity for students to create their own LEGO animations. Using stop-motion animation techniques, they will build their own LEGO scenes and characters, then animate them to tell unique stories. This hands-on activity will not only enhance their technical skills but also encourage imaginative storytelling and problem-solving. By the end of the course, students will have a portfolio of digital artworks and animations that showcase their creativity and newly acquired skills.

Intro to JavaScript & Touch-typing (Years 3-4)
In this dynamic club, students will take their first steps into text-based coding with JavaScript while also developing the essential skill of touch-typing. Building on what they may know from block-based coding like Scratch, they’ll begin writing real code to create fun games, apps, and interactive projects. At the same time, they’ll practice typing with speed and accuracy, giving them confidence to navigate more advanced coding environments. This club is the perfect mix of creativity and practical digital skills, helping students grow as both confident coders and capable computer users.

MakeCode Arcade (Years 5-6)

Students will learn to code through creating retro-style arcade games with Microsoft’s MakeCode: Arcade platform. Students will learn key coding and game design concepts through building personalised projects. Students can learn using Code Blocks, Python, or JavaScript, depending on the age and level.
