Safari Minis is a playful, adventure-themed STEM camp designed for young children (ages 4 to 6) to explore the basics of coding, robotics, creativity, and problem-solving through fun, interactive, and age-appropriate activities. With only 20% to 30% of screen time, the focus is on hands-on play, storytelling, games, and creative projects—balancing technology with outdoor activities and imagination-driven fun.

This camp will split the day evenly, with 50% of the time dedicated to hands-on digital learning and the other 50% focused on engaging off-screen activities.
Information for parents
Whether your child is completely new to coding and robotics, or has completed a BlueShift camp or course before, this course is perfect for them! Bringing a laptop is recommended if possible as students learn more effectively with a device that they are familiar with.
Camp structure
A minimum guarantee of 50% of your child’s week will be spent off-screen, when they’ll be able to create something in the real world.

Lesson 1
First off we'll get to know our teacher and classmates through some great mini games and icebreakers. Once we're all friends, we'll be introduced to our activity for the day. Let's jump in to coding!
10.30 - 11.15
Lesson 2
We'll have a short stretch and will begin our second activity. This is an unplugged activity either robot charades or paper airplane coding!
11.15 - 11.30
Lesson 3
A small break time where the Minis can have a little snack and getting ready to get right back into our third activity.

Scratch Jr: activity crating storyboards and sharing design to one another.

Lunch Time
13.30-14.15
Lesson 4
Let's refocus after lunch and playtime by diving into building Dashbot or Lego WeDo animation.

Snack Break

Lesson 5
After the snack break which we provide a healthy snack. The Minis are now diving into a STEM offline project making posters.

Lesson 6
Our last lesson of the day is an opportunity to finish up our work, recap on what we've learned today and tidy up ready for home time!

Policies
Illness policy
Campers should not be brought to camp if they are displaying signs of illness. In the case of a camper who has become ill during camp hours, parents will be notified immediately to pick their child up. If a child misses a day or multiple days of camp because of an illness, credit towards another camp can be arranged for when they're feeling better.
Refund policy
You can cancel your camp booking up to 14 days prior to the start date. If you want to cancel your camp booking less than 14 days before, you can receive 50% refund or full credit towards future courses when cancelling between 13-7 days before, or full credit when cancelling less than 7 days before. If we are unable to run our camps, you will receive credit or a full refund. If you cancel for any reason you may be liable to pay the difference if our prices increase.
