Mini Coders Club
Designed specifically for our youngest students with no previous technological experience, our Mini Coders course starts with basic ICT skills and computing concepts to introduce children to the exciting world of coding. Our specially designed activities allow your child to develop their programming skills using Scratch JR, an introductory programming language that enables young children to create their own stories, animations and games. An emphasis is placed on freedom of expression, as our project-based learning encourages children to freely express their creativity as they write and modify code!
Lego Robotics Club
In this hands-on club, students will develop their coding, design and engineering skills as they use the block-based coding language Scratch to program their very own LEGO robots. Students will learn how to use key engineering tools, like sensors and motors to build racing car robots, plus we'll get creative with programming to make spirographs. This fun course allows room for creativity and contests through in-class games and competitions, including our very own version of Robot Wars!
Creative Coding Club
This introduction to JavaScript ‘library’ p5.js is the perfect next step for students who are familiar with the Bitsbox platform, or have some text-based coding experience, and are ready to move onto more complex projects. This club combines text-based programming, innovative digital art projects, and game design to teach real-world skills… all through self-expression and individual creativity!
Students will build foundational knowledge and skills in p5.js by working on creative projects like, creating a graffiti drawing app, their own unique version of the app 'Paint’, and JavaScript-based mini games.
