Learning outcomes

Starting their coding journeys with iPads or tablets, students will learn problem-solving skills and the fundamentals of coding, loops and logical reasoning. This camp introduces children to key aspects of basic robotics through Lego WeDO, Dashbots or Ozobot; from circuits and motors with different kits, to programming and sensors. They will develop their programming skills using Scratch Jr, an introductory programming language that enables young children to create their own stories, animations and games. This course will teach basic ICT skills and introductory computing concepts that are an important first step for children, especially when grasping the new National Computing Curriculum.

Information for parents

We ask that if you have a child under 5 that wants to attend camp that they book onto our mini coder's half day. You will see this button just below the booking for this course named ‘half-day option for under 5’.  This is because we are not Ofsted Licensed to have children under 5 for more than 4 hours. Our Mini Coders will be provided wrap-around care by a team of two lovely teachers.
